Gio USB is a surface mount USB to Dante endpoint designed to bridge the gap between IT and AV by allowing laptops and room computers to connect to networked AV systems. Gio USB supports hybrid work and BYOM, providing driverless compatibility with leading soft codec platforms including Microsoft Teams two-way volume and mute synchronization, allowing control of room audio via HID. Gio USB is easy to install, requiring only one CatX cable for IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE, and can be discreetly mounted under a desk, behind a monitor, or next to a room computer for flexible positioning.
Engineering specifications
The device shall be capable of providing up to 2 x 2 USB audio and signaling over standard Ethernet. It shall provide Power over Ethernet (PoE) compliant with IEEE 802.3af Class 0 standards and support Dante networks using standard CatX cables. The device name shall be configurable for clear identification when selecting a USB device from the host computer. The device shall provide bi-directional device enumeration as a telephony device and support echo-canceling and non-echo-canceling speaker profiles, bi-directional volume and mute synchronization with PC and Mac platforms, and mute synchronization with Microsoft Teams applications. The device shall provide a single RGB LED for status reporting, and tactile buttons for network discovery and factory reset. The device shall meet CE and FCC Class 15B regulatory requirements. The device shall be a Xilica Gio USB.
